Timeline

  • In the month of September, Capgemini started registering candidates via Superset. Everything will be informed to you via your placement cell/coordinator. At the time of registering you must have your updated resume, a soft copy of your government ID card and a soft copy of your college ID card. These are to be submitted while doing the registration.
  • After a week, Capgemini started shortlisting candidates based on their submitted resume. According to that, Capgemini started sending mails regarding the further process of online assessment.
  • The online assessment is a bit tricky. This consists of,
    • English/Verbal assessment (Elimination round - 20 Questions in 20 Minutes - Cut-off 70% | Difficulty - Moderate).
    • Pseudo Code/Computer Fundamentals (Elimination round - 40 Questions [25 Pseudo code + 15 computer fundamentals] in 40 Minutes - Cut-off 70% | Difficulty - Moderate)
    • Game based aptitude (Non-elimination round - 4 games to be played [Each of 6 minutes] - 24 Minutes - Try to do as much level as you can [Level 6-7 will be fine]).

All these parts are elimination rounds. Which means if you are not able clear the cut off for English assessment, you'll not be able to part of this drive as you'll be eliminated from the whole process. All the three rounds are elimination rounds, be positive otherwise it's going to be a tricky one.

  • Once you reach the Game based aptitude round, you can admit that you have cleared the assessment round. But it does not mean that you should not have to attend the game round. You have to attend the game based aptitude round and have to score well. Although it's a non-elimination round but you need to perform well otherwise you may face difficulties from the company end. They will show you "Based on the internal criteria you have not cleared the assessment round", be aware of this. Don't be a stupid at the last part of the hurdle.
  • After the selection in the assessment round, now it's time for the Interview round. In Capgemini, they conduct a single interview round which comprises technical and HR altogether. The interviews are being conducted via Superset. You need to login 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time, you need to wait there. Once you got the call, pick that and join the meeting. Let's discuss few interview related questions,
    1. Tell me about yourself/Tell me brief introduction of yours.
    2. What's your final year project? Explain that.
    3. Discuss about other projects.
    4. Discussion about publications. (I have two research publications in my resume, that's why he asked me about those)
    5. Asked me about my participation in the Hackathon that I have mentioned in the resume.
    6. Asked me about my participation in different open source programs those I have mentioned in the resume.
    7. What are the four pillars of OOPs? Define them with examples.
    8. What is abstract class and interface?
    9. Discuss about inner join and outer join.
    10. What's your favourite programming language and why?
    11. Why you have chosen computer science over other branches?
    12. Are you aware of the technical agreement of the company?
    13. What do you know about Capgemini?
    14. Why do you want to join Capgemini?
    15. Any questions/queries do you have?

The interview process completely depends on your interviewer, in my case it was about 15-17 minutes. Few of my friends have their interviews for 40-45 minutes. The difficulty level is more or less same. As the package increases the difficulty level also increases. For 5.75 Lacs package the interviewer will ask you 2-3 coding questions in which you have to implement hashmap, you need to showcase the optimized code. For Senior Analyst role, there will be questions from DP, Greedy, Knapsack algos, they can also ask coding questions from Graph, Tree, Stack, Queue. At the end of the day it's completely depends on the interviewer.

  • They check your knowledge, ability, attitude and everything in those time period. Be positive at that time, if you are not able to answer the questions, tell them you don't know, do not waste time. Be louder and focused, always have a smile in your face. This will bring a positive vibe inside that meeting. The HR part is not so difficult, but can be tricky sometimes. Be aware of that, and speak properly. They check your communication skills here, so be careful with this. Although you have passed the difficult technical round, you can be eliminated from the HR part, if you are not up to the mark.

Best wishes to all of you. Be confident and positive, you'll definitely crack this opportunity!
